First in the line-up of new courses is Costume Jewellery, a hands-on course that explores shaping and forming materials, a range of techniques including etching and construction, creative research and design skills, plus more. Next in the line-up is Kiln Formed Glass, an introductory course for those intending to produce kiln formed glass work. The course covers glass cutting techniques, material properties of glass, glass fusing, creative design skills, and more!
Students will learn from expert tutors with a breadth of industry knowledge and teaching experience, who specialise in these niche artistic areas. Both courses are taught in the college’s fully equipped 3D studios and will provide students with a range of transferrable skills and knowledge that will prepare them for future employment. These include practicality, creative thinking, problem solving, communication, independent research and analytical thinking – to name but a few. All of these skills can be applied to a range of roles and are attractive to employers.
