Warrington & Vale Royal College announces a new partnership with InnovateHer
We are delighted to announce our new partnership with InnovateHer, a unique extra-curricular enterprise support programme with a mission to ‘get girls ready for the tech industry, and the industry ready for girls’.
Through InnovateHer’s educational programme, our students
will connect with real-life industry role models, providing them with the
opportunity to interact with leading employers and learn new digital
skills.
InnovateHer is one of the many new partners the college has
established since the opening of its Advanced Creative & Digital Skills
(ACDS) Centre in September 2022 and Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering
Training (AMET) Centres in 2021.
The first of its kind in the country, the ACDS Centre
offers industry-specific courses, resources and skills through the use of
innovative technology and facilities. It’s the perfect place for people looking
to pursue or advance their careers in the creative and digital sectors, with courses
in art & design, fashion, computing & IT, graphic design, games design,
media or performing arts.
Steph Doyle, Business Centre Manager for the college’s ACDS
Centre said: “We are excited to join InnovateHer’s battle against inequality
and, through their educational programme, help to improve young people’s life
chances. This partnership will help to inform and inspire the college’s
curriculum intent, ensuring it is inclusive and diverse, and reaching out to
females across all of STEM. It will also provide us with key links to tech
industry experts, providing opportunities for our students such as
masterclasses and workshops.”
A representative from InnovateHer commented: “We are
absolutely delighted to announce that Warrington & Vale Royal College has
started their journey with us. Their support means we can continue to provide
teens with free, inspiring and accessible tech education. It’s change-makers like them that are creating a safe space in the sector.”
