Warrington & Vale Royal College's Hospitality & Catering department was delighted to recently receive an Excellence Award from The International Wine & Food Society.
The International Society, which was established in 1933, recognises the importance of gathering together to enjoy outstanding food and wine. The society presents awards to establishments that have delivered a particularly impressive meal, especially when this is accompanied by complementing wine.Representatives from the society attended the college's on-site restaurant, Buckley's, last November and were greatly impressed with their meal.
Tim Hodges, Chairman of The Merseyside and Mid Cheshire branch of the society, returned to the college's Warrington campus in January to present the award.Following his visit, Tim said: "Congratulations on the Excellence Award and thanks for the very positive meeting." Warrington & Vale Royal College's Hospitality & Catering Lecturer Paul Ratcliffe expressed his delight about winning the award, saying: "The department is very pleased about being presented with an Excellence Award. The award is testament to the hard work and talent of our students. We look forward to working with the International Wine & Food Society on future projects."
