Met by senior members of college staff including Nichola Newton, CEO and Principal, Rebecca Anderson-Moss, Assistant Principal: Business Responsiveness and Growth, and Kerry Dowd, Business Centre Manager: Advanced Construction & Civil Engineering, Andy was given a guided tour of the wonderful facilities.

Whilst on campus, Andy was also able to see the building work underway on the college’s new Construction & Civil Engineering Academy and learn more about this new aspiring centre of excellence. Set to launch in September 2024, the Construction & Civil Engineering Academy will promote collaboration between the college, local employers and the local authority, with a sharp focus on the use of digital technology to advance the construction industry.

Andy was impressed with the facilities at the college, saying: “I really enjoyed my visit to Warrington & Vale Royal College, looking at the college’s state-of-the-art construction and engineering facilities and to see the building work which recently started on its new Construction & Civil Engineering Academy.

We are really fortunate to have a well-resourced FE college here in Warrington and very experienced tutors, offering practical learning opportunities for students to gain technical skills which will help them in the workplace.”

Warrington & Vale Royal College was delighted to welcome Andy to its Warrington campus to share these exciting developments. Rebecca Anderson-Moss says: “It has been a pleasure to welcome MP Andy Carter to the college and to show him the wonderful facilities, staff and students that we have in our construction and engineering academies. We are immensely proud of the work we do with employers and the facilities that we have invested in to ensure our students have the best possible learning experience with us.”
