William was recognised for consistently putting others before himself and demonstrating a remarkable level of empathy and emotional awareness beyond his years. Highly perceptive to the needs of those around him, he is not only supportive but also proactive; confidently seeking help on behalf of others when they need it most.
William's compassion is matched by his everyday actions, with his generosity and respect for others reflecting strong values both in and out of the classroom. William first joined the college on a foundation learning course, and thanks to his dedication to his studies, he is preparing to progress on to the Level 2 Graphic Design & Illustration course this month.
Rebecca Cartledge, proud Progress Coach, delivered a heartfelt address before welcoming William to the stage to collect his award. She said: “When we talk about what it means to be a truly outstanding student, someone who embodies dedication, kindness, resilience, and integrity, this student stands out effortlessly.”
She continued: “Academic achievement is only one part of what makes him exceptional. What truly sets him apart is his character. His actions remind us that leadership isn’t always loud; sometimes it is found in the quiet, consistent choice to be a positive role model.”
These words echo the meaning behind the award, and it seems very fitting that a student such as William be its first-ever recipient. Well done, William!
