Level 3 Public Services student Teodora Taneska has achieved distinctions in her exams and is ready to soon start a new job as a Prison Officer Apprentice.
Teodora completed her high school education in Macedonia before coming to Warrington and enrolling on to some of our ESOL courses, before progressing on to our Level 3 Public Services course.
Since starting her Public Services course, Teodora says that the guidance from tutors has made her college experience worthwhile and that the support given, especially with English being her second language, has been exceptional.
Teodora has taken advantage of all enrichment opportunities that the course has given her, including a residential trip to How Stean Gorge Outdoor Adventure Centre, designed to tackle students’ fear of heights, water and enclosed spaces. She says that these experiences helped her to gain perspective on how to deal with different scenarios in real life with the skills they have learnt, as well as developing her own independence. She says: “Public Services was the perfect course for me. It covered many interesting topics and team-building activities which tested our mental and physical health. I enjoyed taking part in the fitness lessons as well as going on the trips.”
“This course provided me with all the important skills for me to be able to get into my prison officer apprenticeship. I was provided with a lot of career opportunities and advice during my time at college.”
Teodora looks forward to starting hew new role and learning industry skills first-hand. In the more distant future, Teodora hopes to work in immigration and is also exploring options to join the Royal Navy. Good luck, Teodora!
