Harry Salkeld, Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery student, joined the college after receiving glowing recommendations.

Meet Harry Salkeld. Harry is currently studying Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery and has really enjoyed getting to grips with the fantastic equipment and facilities on offer at the college.

Harry, a former pupil at The Heath School, joined the college after receiving glowing recommendations from his older brother Josh, who is an apprentice with us. From the second Harry arrived, he knew he had made the right choice, being made to feel welcome immediately by his new classmates and his tutors. Like his brother, Harry made it clear that his ideal next step would be an apprenticeship, and his tutors and the specialist Apprenticeships team at the college have embraced his ambitions and are helping him to reach his goal.

Harry says, “My tutors are amazing; they help me and everybody studying the course to follow their career dreams. I have learned loads so far, such as producing a half flap, woodwork, and hand skills.”

Once completing the Level 1 course, Harry hopes to progress to Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery or an apprenticeship, with aspirations to build up his own business with his brother after they have both successfully completed their qualifications.
