Mia wants to become a nurse specialising in midwifery, and feels as though the course is actively preparing her for a career in the industry. She is particularly enjoying learning patient skills and how to communicate with those with a range of needs and backgrounds. The course allows students to reflect on practices as a class which Mia feels is helping her constantly improve and develop her skills.
“I love the simulation hospital ward and assisted living flat. They give you lots of opportunity to get experience actually doing the job. I would definitely recommend this course because there are lots of routes it can help you with and you are offered support for whatever you choose to do. The staff are really friendly and push you to your best.”
Our Health & Social Care courses are designed to provide students with the skills needed to progress into a variety of careers in the health or care sectors. From paediatric nursing to disability support workers, the course introduces students to many different pathways in the industry, providing them with a variety of experience and opportunities.
We offer Health & Social Care courses at both our Warrington and Winsford campuses. Our Winsford campus has recently been transformed into a partner IoT for Health and both campuses are home to a Health & Social Care Academy. The academies house some fantastic industry-standard facilities including simulation hospital wards, dementia training resources and an independent living flat.
Students at both our campuses get the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industry-standard setting and practice skills directly relevant to the industry, as well as benefitting from our employer partnerships and industry placements as part of their course.
