Former Travel & Tourism student, Katie Grange, secures dream role with TUI!

Meet former Kings Leadership Academy pupil, Katie Grange. After completing her Level 3 Travel & Tourism course at Warrington & Vale Royal college in the summer, Katie secured her dream position as a travel agent with TUI.

Katie had multiple family members who had previously worked in travel, so knew from a young age that she had a passion for the travel industry. She was inspired by family and friends to progress on to a career in the field, and so enrolled on the college’s Travel & Tourism course to gain the skills and knowledge she’d need.

Katie enjoyed the practical aspect of her course and praised her tutors for always keeping lessons informative and engaging. As part of her course, Katie had the opportunity to attend multiple trips including Disneyland Paris and Manchester Airport, and even took part in a cabin crew course.

“I love my job. I have wanted to be a travel agent for a long time, and I love getting to sell holidays to customers and watching them walk out with a smile on their face. I want to thank my tutors, Mark and Jenny, for all of their support in helping me achieve this position and throughout my time at college.”

As well as her full-time role at the TUI store in Leigh, Katie has taken on additional responsibilities, including being the store’s Charity Expert. Over Christmas, Katie arranged a Christmas hamper in aid of the TUI Care Foundation and continues to find ways to support the TUI charity.

“The advice I’d give to anyone wanting to progress into the travel industry is to be passionate and inspiring. Jenny and Mark taught me the importance of teamwork in the industry. I love getting to be a part of the TUI team.”
