When it comes to being the host with the most, hospitality & catering student Ethan Stockton has blown his tutors away, and is taking on a unique food and beverage qualification to further develop his newly-discovered flare for service.
Before coming to the college for a taster day with Golborne High School, Ethan had no idea what to do for his future career and decided to try hospitality & catering as it was something he had never considered before. This spontaneous decision paid off and Ethan found his perfect course.
During his level 1 and 2 qualifications, Ethan found that he enjoyed learning barista and bar-tending skills most. These fed into his time on industry placement with the Horse Shoe Inn at Croft and Birchwood Golf Club where he now works thanks to the excellent impression his skills and work ethic made.
For his level 3 qualification, Ethan was keen to specialise even further, by focusing on the service and front-of-house elements of the hospitality and catering industries. As the only student on the Level 3 Food & Beverage Service Supervision pathway, Ethan is often Buckley’s restaurant’s go-to maitre d’, allowing him to develop his supervisory and customer service skills. He said:
“I am learning so much that will help me in the future- whichever career I choose! This course and the college have opened so many doors for me already, so I can’t wait to see what my future has in store.”
