Efixx, a leading multi-channel media platform for professionals working in the electrical industry, recently came to the college to award Level 2 Electrical Installation student Duncan Russell with their prestigious Next Generation Learner of the Year Award!

Duncan, a former pupil of Rudheath Senior Academy, was delighted to be chosen for this honour. His dedication and hard work certainly stood out to those bestowing the award, having self-sourced an outstanding industry placement in Bristol with Cube Lighting Design and completed over 108 placement hours in just a few months.

For all of his excellent work, Duncan received a bundle of gifts sponsored by Efixx, including a kitted-out CK Tool Bag, an Amazon gift card and a commemorative trophy.

When Duncan was in year 11, he knew that he wanted a career as a tradesperson, but was unsure on which pathway to take. However, after speaking to the expert tutors at the college, electrical installation sparked his interest and he has been showcasing his talents ever since.

Duncan says: “If you want to do a trade, this is a really good college, especially with all the employers you get to work with and learn from. I am really happy on my course and always feel valued as a student.
