Nicola chose to study at Warrington & Vale Royal College because many of the job roles she was interested in required an AAT qualification. Having previously studied HNC Business Studies here, she felt confident returning to the college for her AAT studies. She explains: "It was my first choice when looking for an AAT course provider."
With a background in the legal sector, Nicola decided to change careers in 2020 and found opportunities in the renewable energy sector. Currently working in a finance-oriented role within the CSM Strategy team, she highlights the importance of the AAT course in developing her bookkeeping skills, an area where she had no prior experience.
Nicola appreciates the supportive environment and excellent facilities at the college. She says: "The friendly, down-to-earth tutors with real-life experience make a big difference. The facilities are great, and I really appreciate being able to buy hot food in the early evening as I come to college straight from work. The college is always clean and well-managed."
Balancing her studies with other commitments has been smooth for Nicola, as the course fits well around her schedule and the class times are convenient.
Reflecting on her learning experience, Nicola shares that while some of the course content has reinforced her existing knowledge, the real highlight has been developing her skills in bookkeeping, an entirely new area for her.
Good luck for the future, Nicola!
