Lecturer in Brickwork (Trainee or qualified)

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer in Brickwork. Here at Warrington & Vale Royal College we are entering an exciting period of growth and development, with an expanding department and financial investment in the key curriculum areas of Construction and Engineering.

We have recently secured funding to expand our construction and engineering curriculum offer to ensure that our students complete their studies with knowledge of, and experience in, both traditional and cutting-edge industry practices.

We welcome applications from both experienced Lecturers and candidates who are new to teaching, who have the relevant skills, qualifications and industrial background to provide the best experience for our learners.

We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, which includes:
  • A competitive salary
  • Generous annual leave entitlement (42 days for Lecturers, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure days, pro rata for part time)
  • Occupational pension scheme
  • Employee benefits package
  • Free, on-site parking
  • Full programme of training and mentoring
  • Induction programme and buddy scheme
  • Flexible working, where appropriate
  • Focus on sustainability

In October 2019 the College was officially commended as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and we celebrated some of the highest pass rates in England, ranking us in the top 10 nationally for the third consecutive year. Our mission is ‘Realising potential, transforming lives’. Our environment is inclusive, friendly and supportive, with high expectations for both staff and students. To thrive in our environment, you will need to be resilient, positive, able to work autonomously, have a strong work ethic, and put our learners at the heart of everything you do.

Suitable candidates will have relevant professional qualifications and industrial experience in Brickwork to teach Levels 1 – 3.

You will either have a recognised teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.

If you would like to share your skills with the next generation, and ‘teach your trade’, but don’t have a teaching qualification, the college is able to support you to retrain as an FE teacher.

We are also happy to consider part time opportunities if you would like to discuss a transition into teaching from your current role.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and a Prohibition Check.

Please note that it is college policy that referees of short-listed candidates will automatically be approached prior to interview. One reference should be from your current or most recent employer.

The College operates on 2 campuses – Warrington and Winsford.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. If you are interested in this post please submit your application as soon as possible.
