What is the course about?
The course is an introduction to basic styling skills, including hair up and dressing hair.
Why should I choose the course?
If you are considering a career change or want to develop new skills or enhance existing skills, this is the perfect opportunity to dip your toe in the water and do a short course, meet new people and explore your creativity.
What will I learn?
On this course you will learn:
- Health and Safety in relation to Hairdressing standards
- The importance of preparing hair prior to styling and dressing,
- Basic blow waving technique.
- Use of Heated Equipment & techniques to create curls & body.
- Current hair up techniques and how to secure hair ups with pins & products.
- Plaits, Messy Bun, Formal Bun & Use of Accessories.

What will the course lead on to?
You could progress onto a Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing or other short courses that would support you to develop and enhance your skills across the Hair & Beauty Sector

The tutors are all industry specialists and provide access to resources from a range of industry manufacturers.

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a welfare team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be over 19 and have an interest in the subject area. Be willing to partake in classroom activities and discussions and to self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan at the end of each session.
Where required you will need a patch test on the first week of the course before undertaking any treatments.
What are my funding options?
