Construction & Civil Engineering Academy
The Construction & Civil Engineering Academy (CCEA), based at Warrington campus, will drive collaboration between the college, employers and the local authority to develop, commercialise, and promote digital technologies for the construction and civil engineering sectors.
In so doing, the CCEA will assist the sectors to build high-quality, smart, and efficient green homes, in a faster, cheaper, and more sustainable way than ever before. It is envisaged that the CCEA will be of national significance, a renowned centre of excellence, in the heart of Warrington.

The CCEA will enable students to understand the actual performance of buildings whilst future-proofing sustainable building techniques.
We will work with the sector in the development of standards, qualifications, apprenticeships, and training courses such as low energy, low carbon buildings, sustainable products, water, waste, re-use, and re-cycling.
The specialist equipment in the CCEA will cement the use of digital technology in building construction from concept and first principles, through to building across the complex footprint of the built environment.
Advanced Construction Training
The CCEA will also be home to Advanced Construction Training (ACT), a project funded by the Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and run in partnership with Cheshire College South & West, Reaseheath College, the UTC Warrington and Macclesfield College.
Bespoke training packages and professional qualifications
Bespoke skills training packages and professional qualifications will be delivered via the CCEA for partner employers, and the range of technical qualifications and apprenticeships offered in Warrington to students for the construction, civil engineering and allied industries will be expanded.
Green Technology Hub
Also based within the CCEA is our new Green Technology Hub, opening in September 2024, which will focus on teaching green skills within the construction, digital and engineering sectors.
Together, the CCEA and Green Technology Hub will respond to the specific needs of employers, build an increasingly skilled workforce, and help to grow the local economy.
