Warrington & Vale Royal College’s Advanced Creative & Digital Skills (ACDS) Centre becomes a CISCO Networking Academy

Warrington & Vale Royal College is making moves in the creative and digital sector with the amazing work taking place in its brand-new Advanced Creative and Digital Skills (ACDS) Centre. The centre, which opened its doors to students in September 2022 after a £1.3m investment from the Department for Education, is proving to be the number one destination for students considering a career in the creative and digital sectors. Further cementing this is the centre’s latest accolade: becoming an official CISCO Networking Academy.

CISCO Systems is an IT and networking brand specialising in switches, routers and cybersecurity. Through their Network Academy Program, CISCO provides comprehensive e-learning opportunities to students all over the world to build essential internet technology skills.

As a certified CISCO Networking Academy, Warrington & Vale Royal College can provide students with access to web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certification.

For those students considering a career in coding or cybersecurity, there is no doubt that the college’s ACDS Centre is the perfect destination. Stephanie Doyle, ACDS Business Centre Manager, says: “The digital industries are rapidly changing and evolving, and the need for technical skills is becoming more important for employers. With an average salary of £50,000, the digital economy could grow the UK tech sector by an additional £14.5 billion by 2025, and create a further 678,000 jobs. Becoming a CISCO Networking Academy will allow us to support businesses with recruiting future talent.”
