Warrington & Vale Royal College celebrates another inspiring Careers Week
Warrington & Vale Royal College is dedicated to preparing its students for the world of work. As part of its commitment to turning qualifications into careers, Careers Week – held twice a year – provides students with opportunities to connect with a wide range of organisations, inspiring them as they plan their next steps after college.

Throughout the week, over 30 employers took time out of their busy schedules to deliver guest lectures and bespoke workshops. Representatives from a range of sectors were in attendance including business, early years, health and social care, creative arts, engineering, construction – plus many more! There was something on offer for everyone.
One of the highlights of the week was the Science & Engineering Business Breakfast, hosted at the college’s newly transformed Winsford campus. This event welcomed local science and engineering businesses to explore how they could collaborate with the college, discuss advancements in their industries, and engage with the next generation of talent. Stephanie Doyle, Business & Partnerships Manager, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome employers from the Science & Engineering sector to our recently refurbished Winsford campus on Monday to hear all about our training offer and how we partner with local businesses to mould the future workforce – we look forward to working together to support sector skills development in the future!”
Later in the week, local health and social care employers were invited to attend a Clinical Skills Hub Information Event, also at Winsford campus, to explore opportunities to collaborate with the college to enhance training and workforce development. The Clinical Skills Hub provides free Clinical Skills training for local health and social care staff until July 2025, before switching to a subscription service. This event was well-attended and provided great insights to local employers – the college looks forward to working with these employers in its Health & Social Care Academy soon!
The week wasn’t just a hit with students but the employers too! Carl Oates, Director & Owner of Riqueza Business Solutions, said: “It’s a pleasure to go into Warrington & Vale Royal College within their Careers Week to talk to young students about business and marketing. As a small business owner, I do enjoy speaking with lecturers to help convey theory in practice.”
Advanced Creative & Digital Skills (ACDS) Academy partners, Screen Manchester and Morgan Digital were also invited into college to celebrate the week. Callum Morgan said: “We were pleased to be invited to talk to graphic design students about careers, portfolio development, job interviews and the graphic design industry. In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, it’s a challenge for everyone to stay ahead, but together we can all contribute to shaping the next generation and preparing them for the professional world.”
Proudly positioned as Your Career College, Warrington & Vale Royal College is committed to helping students take meaningful steps towards their future careers. The college extends its sincere thanks to every organisation and individual who took the time to support Careers Week. The knowledge, expertise, and guidance shared throughout the event have been invaluable in shaping students’ career aspirations.
