Trio of star students land prestigious Mercedes-Benz apprenticeships.

Three motor vehicle students from Warrington & Vale Royal College have recently gained an extremely lucrative apprenticeship with local Mercedes-Benz specialists, MB-Tech, after completing a week-long Industry Placement.

Alex Petrus, Liam Whitfield, and Jack Hewitt, former Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance students, made a strong impression on the MB-Tech team in Westbrook during their industry placement. During the course of the week, the students demonstrated their impressive skills and professionalism, prompting the business owners to offer them an incredible opportunity to earn while they learn on the Level 3 Motor Vehicle & Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) apprenticeship.

The specialist facilities at Warrington & Vale Royal College played a significant role in preparing these students for their next chapter. The college's Motor Vehicle Workshop is equipped with tyre changing bays, vehicle ramps, and diagnostic tools, allowing students to work on real clients' vehicles by diagnosing and repairing faults. This hands-on experience in a realistic environment helps students to get ready for employment in a working motor vehicle garage.

The former students of Padgate Academy, Cansfield High School, and Hope Academy began their journey with the college in 2021 on the Level 1 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course. They have since advanced through the level 2 and 3 courses, until ultimately securing their apprenticeship.

Reflecting on the college experience, the students shared: "Our tutor was incredibly supportive and provided us with opportunities we never imagined. We felt well-supported and thrilled to gain experience with a specialist company like MB-Tech."

Alex highlighted the friendly and practical teaching approach at the college, while Liam described his three years there as an ‘incredible journey’. Jack expressed confidence in the skills he gained, feeling well-prepared to advance his career with MB-Tech. Overall, these talented students cannot wait to get started, and consider their time at the college as being instrumental in providing the opportunity to work with an acclaimed company like MB-Tech.
