Sport student Millie Simpson is celebrating an incredible achievement!

Warrington & Vale Royal College sport student is celebrating an incredible achievement!

Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity student Millie Simpson has recently competed in the prominent British Gymnastics Championship held at Lilleshall National Sport Centre Trafford, where she took home second place in the over 18s British Championship and the first-place British title for her floor routine.

This incredible achievement is not the first time Millie has come up first, as she has had the opportunity to travel across the world to competitions in the past, such as in Paris, France, where she secured the first-place prize for solo routine. She has also competed nationally at regionals in the North West Challenge County Cup.

Millie, the former Birchwood Community High School pupil, has been a definite star student over the last academic year and is excellent with keeping us up to date with her accomplishments. We recently caught up with Millie to hear why she initially decided to study Level 3 Sport at the college. Millie said: “I was recommended by friends, and hearing about the college's great reputation solidified my decision. I have loved my time here so far, and I look forward to returning to college after the summer.”

As part of her studies, Millie has a part-time trainee coach position at Wire Gymnastics Club, where she trains and teaches others. Millie has been a gymnast for many years and has been preparing for this competition for several months at the club and within her studies!
We are extremely proud of Millie’s achievements; congratulations!
