“She has consistently worked extremely hard to reach and maintain the highest standards in her course – she is a role model.” Adversity and bravery championed at this year’s Further Education Awards.

The former Culcheth High School pupil was commended for her time on work placement with DC Mini’s, where she later took on the role of assistant coach, delivering football sessions to nursery children and receiving positive feedback from a local primary school for her work leading badminton sessions.

Outside of her studies, she demonstrated exceptional leadership and organisational skills. Despite having her game time limited at times through injury, she was appointed captain of the girls' football team, reflecting the respect she had earned from both her teammates and coaches through her hard work and dedication on and off the pitch.

It has not always been easy for Chloe, but her tutors have commended her exceptionally positive attitude and the way she has embraced advice and support, making the most of every opportunity that came her way, even during periods when this may have felt like the last thing on her mind.

Curriculum manager, Matt Bold, who presented Chloe with her award on the night says: “As staff, we were always proud of her efforts and very often amazed by her bravery. I hope we helped in some small way, as she was truly an inspiration to us, her teachers, and I am sure she made her parents extremely proud through the way she conducted herself throughout her studies.”
