Health & Safety & First Aid

Our health & safety and first aid courses are designed to help you increase your awareness of various aspects of health, safety and first aid and to help you and others to stay safe in the workplace.

Taking a health and safety or first aid course can also help to boost your employability by showing employers you take workplace safety seriously. You will also gain a range of vital skills which can be applied to a variety of situations and make a valuable addition to your CV.

These courses are delivered via distance learning, allowing students to learn in a flexible way at their own pace.

As these are short courses delivered via distance learning, trips and visits are not applicable.

Our health and safety courses cover various aspects including fire safety, manual handling, and risk assessment. Perhaps you are taking a course to enhance your safety in the workplace, through studying one of our risk assessment courses, or boost your professional development through one of awareness courses such as our level 2 certificate in fall prevention or our fire awareness course. Whatever your goal, our distance learning packages will equip you with valuable health and safety knowledge, ensuring you fully understand how to keep yourself and others safe.

We offer a range of distance learning first aid courses, each of which cover several aspects of first aid. From managing an emergency to treating head injuries, you will learn how to perform a wide variety of first aid treatments and potentially make a huge difference in challenging situations.

Rick Cayzer

Rick Cayzer, Curriculum Manager for Distance Learning & Employability has been teaching at the college for over 20 years.

Rick, who loves the diversity of his role, really enjoys providing learning opportunities to students to enhance their skills and knowledge.

He works with curriculum teams across college to develop distance learning and employability packages, in response to the increasing demand from students and employers to provide flexible, 24/7 study options.
