What is the course about?
This Next step course is aimed at learners who have attended the Introduction course and can progress or those who have an interest in making their own vintage style crafts.
You will be given the guidance, techniques and skills to make different the items. All items will be made using basic straight stich hand sewing and glue and you will be shown basic hand sewing techniques and you will be able to undertake your own projects as home.
Why should I choose the course?
You should choose this course if you have a basic knowledge of flower arranging and would like to gain the skills needed to produce a festive Christmas wreath. This very popular class will allow you to have fun, make a unique wreath, and perhaps even make some new friends!
What will I learn?
You will develop your skills and techniques and how to transform items using various material and give them a vintage look using fabrics and paper such as lace and bedding. You can work on your vision t during the class using your skills and techniques to give household items or clothing a more vintage look.
Hand sewing, decoupage and appliques skills will be used throughout the course.

What are the entry requirements?
To have an interest in the subject area. Be willing to partake in classroom activities and discussions and to self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan at the end of each session.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
The College will provide some basic materials and fabrics, needles and thread for sewing, glue and brushes.
Please bring your own dressmaking scissors each week and your tutor will advise you on what items you can bring to each week to help enhance your designs such as old bedding, clothing and lace
