What is the course about?
Learn how social media marketing is used to promote products and services, identify the characteristics of different audiences and how social media channels and platforms can be used to engage with them. You will learn to create and plan social media marketing activities and draft content to promote a product or service to an audience.
Why should I choose the course?
There are 53 million active social media users in the UK, which is 77.9% of the UK population. 98% of UK users use social media on their mobile devices. The average UK user spends 110 minutes on social media per day.. This course will enable you to build skills in developing content to engage with these users, and market and promote products and services using a range of platforms, skills and techniques.
What will I learn?
This course will develop your knowledge and understating of:
- How social media marketing is used to promote products and services.
- How digital technologies, channels and platforms are used in social media marketing campaigns
- Ideas and strategies used to create and present a social media marketing campaign proposal for a particular product or service.
What will the course lead on to?
This qualification is designed to prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same sector or a related area at a higher level or prepare learners for employment in the sector or a related sector. Successful completion of this qualification could support progression onto a number of Level 3 programmes including: Graphic Design, IT, or Business.

We have links with Morgan Branding, Draw and Code, Apple, 10:10 Games and Vizbox. The Advanced Creative & Digital Skills Centre is proud to work with a wide range of local and national employers who will deliver industry-specific skills and knowledge during the course, offer learners the chance to take part in competitions or live briefs and often talent spot for their next employees.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
