What is the course about?

You will learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. You will develop text-based programming skills to design and develop your own computer program.

Why should I choose the course?

This 8-week accredited course is designed as an introduction to programming.

It covers the principles of programming including types of languages and development tools available. Designing a program involves understanding the client's requirements and intended purpose. You'll learn how to respond to a client brief by determining programming needs and creating the necessary design documentation. The course also covers developing programs using a text-based language, focusing on coding with suitable algorithms and syntax. The final stage includes testing, refining, documenting, and reviewing the completed programme

These 4 main areas will equip you with the basics for developing your own programs and provide you with the skills for your next stage in opening your programming career.

On completion, you’ll receive an industry-recognised Level 2 accreditation and be perfectly placed to enrol on a higher programming course or help you move into employment in the digital world.

There are no prior qualification or prior skills, knowledge or understanding requirements for these qualifications. However, students would benefit from prior knowledge of programming / Javascript / Python.
