What is the course about?
This Introduction to Sewing Vintage (Handmade) is aimed at beginners who have an interest in changing every day household/garden items and giving them a vintage look.
You will be given the guidance, techniques and skills to make different items. All items will be made using basic straight stitch hand sewing and glue. You will be shown basic hand sewing techniques and you will be able to undertake your own projects as home.
What will I learn?
During the course you will learn the skills and techniques including basic sewing stitch to make various items and materials which includes, bedding, paper and lace.
Examples include:
Hand sewn bunting
Embellish a tea towel
Make a key ring from Denim (jeans)
Cover bookings with materials and decoupage

What are the entry requirements?

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
The College will provide some basic materials and fabrics, needles and thread for sewing, glue and brushes.
Please bring your own dressmaking scissors each week and your tutor will advise you on what items you can bring to each week to help enhance your designs such as old bedding, clothing and lace.
