What is the course about?
This short introductory course is aimed at those students wishing to gain some understanding and some practical experience of plumbing.
This course has been introduced to allow a complete novice to gain the confidence to go on to further studies within the plumbing field and to potentially gain a qualification and eventually employment after further studies.

This short introductory course covers a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in plumbing to give you the introduction that is needed to progress to further studies if required.
What will I learn?
Over the 3 weeks you will be developing skills and knowledge in the following:
- Bending & jointing copper pipes
- How to hang & bleed radiators
- Connecting pipes & fittings to appliances
What will the course lead on to?
On completion of the course students may wish to progress to full certified qualifications in the trade area.
Are there any links with industry and university?
The course is aligned to plumbing practices and can be the first step towards a career in the construction industry if students wish.
