What is the course about?

If you have an interest in holistic and massage treatments, this course is ideal for you! Whether you would like to take this course for personal use or to eventually start a new career, this course will equip you with a range of valuable introductory skills.

Why should I choose the course?

This course will provide you with a starting point to build your confidence with an Introduction to Stone Therapy that will expand your basic skills and knowledge in holistic related treatments, enabling you to progress onto a range of short courses that will provide opportunities to upskill, retrain or look to becoming self employed in the future.

What will I learn?

During the four-week course there will be introductory sessions on carrying out an ear candling treatment.

A suggested outline of topics include:

  • Health, safety, and hygiene in a salon
  • Completing consultation forms
  • History of Stone Massage
  • Apply techniques to perform back treatment
  • Hot and cold therapy using stones

Within the sessions the relevant health and safety will be covered, and you will learn how to perform different techniques of the above treatments on fellow students in the class.

What will the course lead on to?

After completing this course, you could progress on to a wide range of accredited and non-accredited courses. Please contact our Learner Services Team on 01925 494400 or email learner.services@wvr.ac.uk for more information. Why not try a qualification in beauty therapy to develop your skills further?

What support is available?

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
