What is the course about?
If you are an adult aged 19 or over and have an interest in facial skin care, this course is ideal for you! Providing you with a range of introductory skills and knowledge, this fun short course will allow you to effectively perform facial skin care treatments whilst adhering to health and safety requirements.

What will I learn?
During this five-week course there will be introductory sessions on a variety of facial skin care/beauty treatments.
A suggested outline of topics includes:
- Identify skin types
- Perform facial skin care routine
- Aftercare advice
- Health, safety, and hygiene in a salon
Within the sessions, you will have the opportunity to use different techniques whilst performing treatments on your fellow classmates. The relevant health and safety guidelines will be adhered to throughout the course.
How is the apprenticeship delivered?
You will be observed during your practical treatments with oral questioning throughout to ensure the understanding of the relevant information. You will complete an individual learning plan where you will self-assess your progress and receive weekly feedback from your tutor.

Are there any links with industry and university?
During your course you will acquire the basic techniques for a number of beauty treatments, which you may build on if you wish to take your studies further. You will learn the relevant health and safety relating to each of the treatments, to ensure safe practice.

What are the entry requirements?
To enter this course, you must be aged 19 or over. Where required, you will need a patch test on the first week of the course before undertaking any treatments.
