Cisco CCNA 3
Digital & IT
Adult Further Education
What is the course about?
Continue preparing for a networking career with this final course in the CCNA series on understanding how networks operate. The Cisco CCNA courses offered at Warrington & Vale Royal College are preparatory courses designed to provide you with the skill and knowledge needed to build and develop computer networks, and should you wish, progress to undertaking full CCNA Certification with an external accredited centre.
Large enterprises depend heavily on the smooth operation of their network infrastructures. CCNA 3 follows on from the ‘next steps’ CCNA 2 course and is the final course in the CCNA series offered at the college. The course describes the architectures and considerations related to designing, securing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise networks. It covers wide area network (WAN) technologies and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access along with the introduction of software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks.
Why should I choose the course?
Thanks to new technologies, networks are becoming more intelligent, programmable and software driven. CISCO qualifications support this evolution and expose learners to new concepts and hands-on experiences that will give you the skills and knowledge needed to enter a career in networking. CCNA Certification are amongst the most in demand in the industry, according to IDC.
What will I learn?
You will learn several key networking skills, including how to:
- Work with routers and switches using OSPF in point-to-point and multiaccess networks.
- Mitigate threats and enhance network security using access control lists and security best practices
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
- Understand virtualization, SDN, and how APIs and configuration management tools enable network automation.
What will the course lead on to?
After successful completion of CCNA 3, you will have the necessary knowledge and skill to embark on a career in networking. You will also be ready to take the CCNA Certification exams directly with Cisco through an accredited centre, should you wish to do so.
Please note that the college does not deliver the CCNA Certification exams but can support learners in finding a nearby accredited Cisco centre to register for the exams. This would be at an extra cost to the student.
