What is the course about?

Who says you can’t have a BBQ in the rain? Here at Warrington & Vale Royal College, we will show you that the impossible is possible. You will learn quick and easy methods to get those tantalising BBQ flavours no matter what the weather brings. This is a practical-based course, where you will learn how to plan, prepare, and cook for that special BBQ in no time at all. We will help you to learn about different types of marinades and why we use them, flavour combinations, and preparation and cooking methods, to obtain that same BBQ taste that we all love and expect.

Why should I choose the course?

You will learn chef tips and practical skills on how to prepare, cook, and serve some great dishes such as spatchcock chicken with smoky BBQ rub, Sticky Joe’s Mississippi sausages, mini jackets with chipotle butter, and of course, grilled corn. These dishes take no time at all and will impress your family and friends when you invite them to your BBQ, no matter what the weather.

Please note, you must wear a full covered shoe without a heel, tie long hair back and wear a hat or cap along with an apron. Jewellery must be removed when in the kitchen.

On this course you will:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve dishes that are popular, diverse, and exciting
  • Use a range of ingredients to create the finished product
