What is the course about?

This course will build upon your existing skills, focusing on the Italian grammar and how to construct sentences. You will develop writing, speaking, and listening skills through the study and practice of grammar, vocabular, and pronunciation.

Why should I choose the course?

If you wish to take your Italian skills to the next level, this course is perfect for you. Improving your knowledge of prepositions, adjectives, connectives, tenses and much more, this course will enable you to use written and spoken Italian with confidence.

What will I learn?

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Daily life and daily routine
  • Free time activities and time expressions
  • Describing people and places
  • Prepositions in general and of place.
  • Recipes (imperatives)
  • Italian festivals and customs
  • Grammar points such as avere and essere, definite and indefinite articles, personal pronouns, masculine and feminine singular and plurals, and past and future tenses. You will also use reflexive verbs, adjectival phrases, and noun agreement. Comparisons, conjunctions, and connectives will also be covered.

Grammar will be covered for around 30 minutes each week and will require homework for consolidation purposes.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is aimed at adults aged 19 and over. No previous qualifications are required, but you must have already attended the introduction and next steps courses (or equivalent).
