Brand NEW for 2023/24, a £3.6m investment in Construction & Civil Engineering facilities at Warrington campus, thanks to the Town Deal.
Placing the development of the relevant digital skills and competencies at its heart, the Advanced Construction and Civil Engineering (ACCE) Centre based at Warrington campus will drive collaboration between the college, employers and the local authority to develop, commercialise and promote digital technologies for the construction and civil engineering sectors and the in-parallel skills training that supports it.
In so doing, ACCE will assist the sectors to build high quality, smart, green and efficient homes and building infrastructures, faster, cheaper and more sustainably than ever before. It is envisaged that the ACCE Centre will be of national significance, a renowned centre of excellence, in the heart of Warrington.
ACCE will also enable students to understand the actual performance of buildings whilst futureproofing sustainable building techniques. We will work with the sector in the development of standards, qualifications, apprenticeships and training courses such as low energy, low carbon buildings sustainable products , water, waste, re-use and re-cycling. The specialist equipment in our ACCE Centre will cement the use of digital technology in building construction from concept and first principles, through to building across the complex footprint of the built environment.
ACCE will deliver bespoke skills training packages and professional qualifications for partner employers and expand the range of technical qualifications and apprenticeships offered in Warrington to students for the construction, civil engineering and allied industries.
