Warrington & Vale Royal College puts its Advanced Creative & Digital Skills Centre on the map following an exciting and exclusive launch event

Warrington & Vale Royal College recently announced the opening of its brand-new Advanced Creative & Digital Skills (ACDS Centre) – a technological hub created with a £2million investment from the Department for Education. On Thursday 23rd March 2023, a number of esteemed guests, employer partners and friends of the college joined in a celebration of the ACDS Centre’s success so far and the amazing things still yet to come, as the doors to the centre were officially opened.

Featuring a roster of impressive facilities and equipment including a recently renovated theatre, dance and acting studios with sprung floors, a green-screen TV studio, a motion capture suite, digital suites, an Esports suite and specialist artistic workshops – the ACDS Centre is a hive of creative and digital excellence.

The exclusive launch event began with a networking session in the college’s award-winning Buckley’s Restaurant, where guests were welcomed with canapés and refreshments served by a team of very talented hospitality and catering students. Guests were then escorted to the Theatre for a presentation, only to be surprised with a flash-mob performance by some of the college’s talented performing arts students, who delivered a marvellous rendition of Feeling Good.

It was then back to business with college Principal & Chief Executive, Nichola Newton and ACDS Business Centre Manager, Stephanie Doyle taking the stage to tell the centre’s story so far. This was followed by a talk from Arthur Parsons, Design Director at 10:10 Games and Paul Chadwick, Director at Prism Studios as well as two heart-warming speeches from ACDS students, Riley Lambert and Dean Crimp. Then came the main event: the official opening of the ACDS Centre, delivered by Charlotte Nichols MP. Charlotte, a passionate supporter of the college, shared her enthusiasm about the centre and the amazing opportunities it will bring to the town.

Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the creative and digital industries, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this movement. We look forward to welcoming students, businesses and organisations to the ACDS Centre, and to supporting their growth and success.”

Warrington & Vale Royal College is delighted with the success of the launch and extends huge thanks to those who attended the launch and who have supported the ACDS Centre since its inception.
