Warrington & Vale Royal College celebrates student success at inaugural Further Education Awards Ceremony
Warrington & Vale Royal College was delighted to host its inaugural Further Education Awards on Thursday 18th June, a true celebration of student success held in the grand and historic Parr’s Bank Hotel.
The Grade II listed building, beautifully restored in Warrington town centre, provided a fitting backdrop for an evening dedicated to recognising the outstanding achievements, resilience, and talent of just some of the college’s students.
On arrival, attendees were welcomed with mocktails and canapés prepared and served by the college’s own hospitality and catering students. A live acoustic performance from Alice Jacobsen created a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere, setting the tone for the evening as guests gathered, celebrated, and reflected on the achievements being honoured.
The ceremony was attended by a range of VIPs and friends of the college, including college governors, event sponsors, Warrington Borough Council, Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington, and senior staff from local high schools. Their presence reinforced the strong partnerships supporting student success and progression.
The evening began with a heartfelt welcome from college Principal & CEO Nichola Newton, before tutors took to the stage to present awards to deserving winners. Proceedings were complimented by moving video nominations that showcased individual journeys, determination, and success. These stories resonated across the room, demonstrating the transformative impact of further education and the dedication of both students and staff.
Thanks were given to the sponsors of the event, without whom the evening would not have been as remarkable. The celebratory event was sponsored by Aico, Compass Minerals, Cooper Parry, Dovetail & Slate, Construction EPA Company, NOCN Group, and United Utilities. The continued support of local employers like these plays a vital role in enabling the college to deliver events that celebrate achievement and create meaningful opportunities for students.
Last but by no means least, the college expressed sincere thanks to everyone who attended the inaugural celebration. Each winner was recognised as a truly deserving recipient, exemplifying the very best of technical education and showcasing ambition in action.
The evening also delivered an inspiring highlight, as one outstanding student was offered employment by a VIP in attendance – powerfully demonstrating how events such as these connect real talent with real opportunity.
This event stands as a testament to the exceptional work and powerful stories that define Warrington & Vale Royal College, reinforcing the importance of further education in shaping futures, supporting communities, and driving regional growth. Everyone at the college is incredibly proud of each award winner and is looking ahead to the continued success of both students, and this dazzling event.
