That's a wrap on Taster Days 2026!

Held across five action-packed days, the annual festival-themed event gave pupils the opportunity to take part in subject taster sessions of their choosing. From Sport and Early Years to Engineering, Creative Arts, Health & Social Care, and more, visitors were able to get hands-on experience whilst gaining a genuine insight into what life is like at Warrington & Vale Royal College.

Alongside their classroom experiences, pupils enjoyed an exciting festival atmosphere throughout the week. Lunchtimes were filled with activities including face painting, penalty shootouts, and a quiz hosted by our very own Student Experience Officer! Free pizza, burgers, and chips helped keep energy levels high, while an ice cream van pulled up to cool down pupils joining us on those extra hot days. The combination of engaging learning experiences and festival fun showcased Warrington & Vale Royal College’s unique approach to helping young people explore their next steps.

Students attended from schools across the region, including Beamont Collegiate Academy, Bridgewater High School, Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, Culcheth High School, Great Sankey High School, and so many others. Their enthusiasm and engagement helped make WVRFest 2026 extra special, with pupils embracing every opportunity to try something new and discover potential career pathways.

As WVRFest 2026 draws to a close, Warrington & Vale Royal College would like to thank every pupil, school, and member of staff who contributed to the event’s success. We hope everyone who attended left feeling inspired about their future and excited about the opportunities available after high school. We look forward to welcoming many of this year’s attendees back in September as applicants, and helping them take the next step towards achieving their ambitions.
