Hair & Media Make-up Interview- Meet our 'Top Tutor' Rayner Cunniffe!

Talented Media Make-up tutor Rayner has an impressive background in the industry, having worked in top salons and produced countless incredible make-up looks. She has a huge passion for make-up and loves to share her skills with her students. As well as teaching, Rayner still works in industry in her own time, keeping her skills fresh and up to date. I have worked in high end salons providing all ranges of makeup including- bridal, prom, occasional, beauty pageant and more. I have 6 years’ experience and I am still working in industry with a great client base! I work from my home salon now, which I find a great work life balance. What does your job role at Warrington & Vale Royal College involve? Teaching, guiding, motivating, planning, providing realistic working environments and mentoring students to ensure they work towards their chosen career choice. What do you enjoy most about working at Warrington & Vale Royal College? The team effort that we have in The Academy, we always try to support each other. I enjoy planning the year ahead to ensure we are providing a great structured plan for our students. What will students learn on this course? Health and safety, client care and communication, on-trend make-up application, hair dressing/styling, face and body art and many more! What do you enjoy teaching most on your course? I enjoy every aspect! Everything we teach I use within industry, so I ensure I am passionate about all the units we teach and I hope this encourages the students to become even more passionate about the course. What sort of destinations do your students go onto? Level 3 Theatrical & Media Make-up, university, freelance/ mobile makeup artist, salon based artist/ therapist, beauty counter advisor, TV/film artist, and many more!
