Enriching lives and promoting inclusivity: Warrington & Vale Royal College collaborates with DFN Project Search and Warrington Hospital

We are thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with DFN Project Search, an initiative aimed at providing meaningful work placement opportunities to young adults. This innovative programme serves as a one-year transition to work for young adults with a learning disability and/or autism, empowering them to explore their potential in the professional world.

In England, only 4.8% of people with a learning disability secure paid employment, in stark contrast to 80% of their peers. Recognising this disparity, we have joined forces with DFN Project Search to address the issue head-on. Our goal is to showcase the invaluable contributions individuals with a learning difficulty can make to the workforce, highlighting their skills and talents.

As of September 2023, we will be working with Warrington Hospital to offer 8 amazing NHS Supported Internship opportunities. We look forward to witnessing the positive difference this collaboration will make to the lives of our students and the wider community.

To find out more about this wonderful opportunity, or to learn more about our Supported Internship Programmes, contact our Supported Internship Coordinator by emailing: SMcHale@wvr.ac.uk
