Alumni Nikita-Jade visits college’s Advanced Creative & Digital Skills Academy to introduce students to Toto Theatrical LTD

Warrington & Vale Royal College takes pride in the achievements of its alumni and values opportunities to reconnect them with current students. Recently, the college was delighted to welcome back former acting & musical theatre student Nikita-Jade Chambers, who has turned her passion for the performing arts into a flourishing career. Her visit to the Advanced Creative & Digital Skills Academy was an inspiring event, showcasing how courses act as powerful catalysts for career success.

Nikita-Jade’s journey into the world of performing arts began during her time at Sir Thomas Boteler C of E High School. Though she was set on pursuing a career in this field, the choice of the right college was crucial. Recommendations from friends and the unforgettable performance of "Seussical" by the college's theatre company convinced her that Warrington & Vale Royal College was the perfect next step.

While studying at the college, Nikita-Jade thrived and her confidence and technical skills blossomed under the guidance of dedicated tutors. However, her ambition drove her to seek additional opportunities beyond her course, where she identified a gap in local theatrical training resources. This sparked the idea for Toto Theatrical LTD; a local, accessible, and affordable theatrical training company.

After completing her technical qualification at the college, Nikita-Jade went on to earn a First-Class BA (Hons) degree and a PGCE in Musical Theatre. Her career has since spanned an impressive array of performances including fringe theatre, outdoor theatre, musicals, plays, short films, and concert performances. A standout moment in her career was collaborating with the cast of Fame for their 2022 reunion concert, which remains one of her highlights to date.

Now, Nikita-Jade and her colleagues Chris and Sean dedicate themselves to nurturing young talent through Toto Theatrical LTD. She says, "I want to give back to the talented young people in my town, especially as someone whose career started here. I am passionate about giving as many young people as possible the opportunity to thrive!"

Reflecting on her return to the college, Nikita-Jade shared, "My time here meant so much to me and has been one of the most influential periods in my life so far. Delivering workshops for current students feels like a full-circle moment! I am really impressed by the facilities on offer and the talent on show, and I am looking forward to working with the Performing Arts department more in the near future."
