GCSE Science Revision Sessions

As experienced high school science teachers, tutors and examination markers, our science tutors at Warrington & Vale Royal College are offering a programme of expert workshops to prepare and boost learners for their upcoming GCSEs.

These revision sessions are free of charge and designed to help Year 11s prepare for their GCSE exams. Starting in January 2025, they will be based in the college's modern laboratories from 6.00pm to 8.00pm on Tuesdays at Winsford campus and on Thursdays at Warrington campus.

Places on these sessions are expected to fill up quickly and will be given on a first-come-first-served basis. Please complete the form below to register your place now!

Session 1: Cells & Systems

This session will cover specialist cells and organs & organ systems.

Session 2: Bioenergetics

This session will cover respiration and photosynthesis.

Session 3: Response to change

This session will cover infection & response and homeostasis.

Session 4: Living change

This session will cover inheritance, variation, evolution and ecology.

Session 1 will run on Tuesday 14th January at Winsford campus & Thursday 16th January at Warrington campus

Session 2 will run on Tuesday 21st January at Winsford campus & Thursday 23rd January at Warrington campus.

Session 3 will run on Tuesday 28th January at Winsford campus & Thursday 30th January at Warrington campus.

Session 4 will run on Tuesday 4th February at Winsford campus & Thursday 6th February at Warrington campus.

Session 5: Properties of matter

This session will cover atomic structure, period table and bonding & structure.

Session 6: Chemical changes

This session will cover chemical changes and energy changes.

Session 7: Chemistry of the world

This session will cover organic chemistry, chemical analysis, chemistry of the atmosphere and using resources.

Session 8: Chemical reactions

This session will cover the rate of change and quantitative chemistry.

Session 5 will run on Tuesday 11th February at Winsford campus & Thursday 13th February at Warrington campus.

Session 6 will run on Tuesday 25th February at Winsford campus & Thursday 27th February at Warrington campus.

Session 7 will run on Tuesday 4th March at Winsford campus & Thursday 6th March at Warrington campus.

Session 8 will run on Tuesday 11th March at Winsford campus & Thursday 13th March at Warrington campus.

Session 9: Energising physics

This session will cover energy and electricity.

Session 10: Forces

This session will cover Newton's law, speed/distance/time graphs, velocity/ acceleration and momentum.

Session 11: Particles & Radiation

This session will cover the particle model of matter and atomic structure.

Session 12: Making waves

This session will cover waves, magnetism and electromagnetism.

This session will run on Tuesday 18th March at Winsford campus & Thursday 20th March at Warrington campus.

Session 10 will run on Tuesday 25th March at Winsford campus & Thursday 27th March at Warrington campus.

Session 11 will run on Tuesday 1st April at Winsford campus & Thursday 3rd April at Warrington campus.

Session 12 will run on Tuesday 22nd April at Winsford campus & Thursday 24th April at Warrington campus.

Confirmation will be sent to those who have successfully registered for each session in the New Year.

Please note that transport will not be provided by Warrington & Vale Royal College and you must find your own transport to attend these.
