Hamish Reilly, a Visitor Assistant at The Lion Salt Works Museum in Northwich, is thriving on our Introduction to Carpentry & Joinery course taught at our Warrington campus. Hamish, who has previously studied Maths Functional Skills with us at the college, is undertaking this new challenge to improve his life skills and hopes it will lead to potential job opportunities in the future.
When we asked Hamish what the best aspect of studying with us is, he said: “The accessibility at the college is second to none. Everyone I have encountered with has been so friendly! I can’t wait to use the new skills I am learning in my everyday life.”
Since starting on this introductory course, Hamish has enjoyed learning about and implementing tenement joints, and can’t wait to practice the skills he has learnt at home.
Hamish is looking forward to completing more courses at the college and has expressed interest in completing the Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery qualification as well as doing the Artisan Bread course which is included in our ACL offer.
