Enrichment Charity Calendar
Warrington & Vale Royal College Charity Events Calendar

Charity and Awareness Events

Our Student Engagement Officer, Courteney, has worked closely with our HR department at the college to come up with a calendar of charity events that we plan on running throughout the year. As part of the students enrichment journey, students are encouraged to engage with the below enrichment categories, by doing these students are enhancing their CV and personal statement.

Student Buddy Scheme

Our Student Buddy Scheme is where we pair up experienced students with students who perhaps need a little more peer support in college, to work together to achieve a goal. For example, this could be having more confidence in speaking up in class, or feeling more comfortable in the cresent at peak periods.

Fresher's Fayre

Every year we hold a Fresher's Fayre at the start of the year, which see's over 30 local and national organisations attend the college. This Fresher's Faye gives our students the opportunity to meet local employers, talk to university representatives about their next steps after college, and collect loads of freebies! This event is the perfect opportunity for students to sign up to Enrichment activities, such as student council, and make suggestions for extra curricular clubs.

Core Enrichment

Throughout the academic year, our Student Engagement Officer will be visiting classes to deliver a variety of sessions, ranging from team-building, mindfulness, fun Christmas activities, and sessions highlighting awareness months, such as Women in History and LGBT+ History Month.

Student Competitions

At Warrington & Vale Royal College we aim to run a students' competition at least once a term, where prizes are up for grabs. These competitions will reflect the time of year, or tie into the charity and awareness calendar, one example would be our Student Sustainability Competition.

Downtime in College

During breaks and lunches students can relax in the crescent, with a variety of activities to choose from, students are welcome to hang with friends during their down-time. They can try their hand at table tennis, air hockey, basketball, or pick up a board game. Students also have access to play the PS4 which is definitely a popular option!
