What is the course about?

This qualification will help develop your knowledge of specific learning difficulties and how these affect individuals. You will also learn how people are diagnosed and how they can be supported. This course is suitable for anyone working within education, healthcare, and social care. The qualification focuses on dyslexia along with other hidden disabilities.

  • The characteristics of ADHD, ADD, dyslexia and dyscalculia
  • How specific learning difficulties can affect children and adults in different ways

  • The various assessment methods available to diagnose specific learning difficulties
  • How individuals can be supported to gain, start, and continue with study and employment.

What are the entry requirements?

You should have access and be able to use online learning platforms and be able to cope with level 2 literacy.

If you are aged 19-23 you must hold a full level 2 qualification.

If you are currently undertaking an apprenticeship programme you will be exempt from enrolling on this course.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?

There are no specific extra costs apart from access to IT and the internet, as well as any books/stationery you wish to purchase yourself.
