What is the course about?
If you have an interest in mixology or simply love entertaining and want to make your parties go off with a bang, then this course is for you. It is a practical course, where you will learn all the necessary skills and knowledge to help you prepare cocktails for different occasions, with nibbles to match.
Why should I choose the course?
You will learn to make a range of cocktails to suit various occasions, from Bellinis and Brunch to Tequila and Tacos. Beginning with the basics such as equipment and techniques, you will advance to making your own cocktails that you can recreate at home, with perfectly paired nibbles.

- Equipment and techniques
- Syrups
- Brunch, Bellinis & Buck’s Fizz
- Bittersweet Symphonies: Spiced snacks, Campari and friends
- Party prep: Prebatching, garnishes
- Tacos and Tequila: Paloma & friends
- Sweet treats, Espresso Martinis and after-dinner delights
What will the course lead on to?
This course is an introductory course to support you to develop the necessary skills to build confidence and communication whilst supporting you to progress onto some of our more advanced courses such as our” Beat the Takeaway”, where you can continue to develop and enhance existing and new skills whilst gaining a qualification.

The hospitality and catering industry are currently thriving. From Michelin starred restaurants and high-end hotels, to quaint cafes and village inns, you are sure to find something that suits your niche. We have excellent links with local and national employers. Work placements have helped so many of our previous students secure part-time jobs following their work placements at venues such as Shelley’s Café, Park Royal Hotel, The Kirkfield Hotel, and the Art School Restaurant.

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
