What is the course about?

We use maths in all aspects of everyday life, this may be helping with homework, understanding bills and bank statements or even using the numeracy skills you can learn to help others. With improved numeracy confidence and strategies to solve problems, numbers will become part of your everyday life skills.

Why should I choose the course?

Numeracy is essential to an individual's ability to learn and to engage productively in society. Numeracy doesn't necessarily mean complex skills, like different calculations or algebra, it rather means to be confident enough to use basic maths/numeracy in daily life situations.

What will I learn?

Use budgeting skills to shop and make good choices also, understand how credit and debit work. Gain experience in money, converting foreign currencies with ease and when to make the best decision when we see that special offer.

What will the course lead on to?

You may wish to complete another module which form part of our 6 module Living and Learning in the UK course. This course will also support our Functional Skills and GCSE courses.

What support is available?

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a welfare team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
