What is the course about?
The is the fifth of our Living and Learning in the UK courses; aimed at those supporting children through the UK schooling system and who have not studied in the UK themselves or would like to learn how to support their dependents through the UK education system. Looking at all key stages of English, the course will look at what what is covered in each subject at each key stage, where to find resources, and what questions to ask at parents evening.
Why should I choose the course?
This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and tools to support your children or dependents in their English classes at school as well as help you to understand what progress your child is making and where to find support if needed.
What will I learn?
You will gain an overview of the English curriculum through different key stages and how it is taught in schools. You will learn what English qualifications are available, how English is examined and how you can support with revision and exams. The course will also cover Further Education and the requirements for English.
What will the course lead on to?
You may wish to complete all 6 modules of our Living and Learning in the UK courses.
This course will also support our ESOL, Functional Skills and GCSE courses.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a welfare team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
