What is the course about?
This level 4 award is designed for practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process within a training centre or organisation, and have responsibility for monitoring the performance of assessors and maintaining quality assurance of the assessment process.
Why should I choose the course?
If you are a qualified assessor and would like to take your skills to the next level, this course is suitable for you. This course will enable you to understand the process of internal quality assurance and confidently monitor and quality assure the work of other assessors.
What will I learn?
You will complete two units and gain the relevant underpinning knowledge about the principles and processes of internal quality assurance. You will gather evidence of IQA monitoring and quality assure the work of two assessors, each with a minimum of two candidates.
A range of assessment methods will be used including observation, Q&A, professional discussion, and use of expert witness testimony.
What will the course lead on to?
After achieving this qualification, there may be additional courses you would like to take to enhance your practice. Please see the college website or speak to the Learner Services Team for more information on courses.
Are there any links with industry and university?
The observations of the IQA process may be carried out in an industry setting.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be occupationally competent in the units being quality assured, hold a recognised level 3 assessor qualification, and have an up-to-date working knowledge and experience of best practice. You will need to be working in a training environment/organisation.
