What is the course about?

The qualification is suitable for anyone who would like to develop their counselling skills for use in a professional or personal capacity. You may wish to study this course in order to complement other programmes in health and social care, children’s care, learning and development, or voluntary and community work. After completing this course, you may wish to progress on to another qualification to further your knowledge. Throughout this qualification, you will be introduced to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, as well as some of the approaches involved in the use of counselling skills. The course will also focus on the importance of self-development.

If you wish to study further, you would need to complete the Level 2 Counselling Certificate that deliver onsite as this includes the skills element required to progress to the next level in Counselling.
