What is the course about?

The qualification is suitable for anyone who would like to develop their counselling skills for use in a professional or personal capacity. You may wish to study this course in order to complement other programmes in health and social care, children’s care, learning and development, or voluntary and community work. After completing this course, you may wish to progress on to another qualification to further your knowledge. Throughout this qualification, you will be introduced to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, as well as some of the approaches involved in the use of counselling skills. The course will also focus on the importance of self-development.

What are the entry requirements?

You should have access and be able to use online learning platforms and be able to cope with level 2 literacy.

If you are aged 19-23 you must hold a full level 2 qualification.

If you are currently undertaking an apprenticeship programme you will be exempt from enrolling on this course.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?

There are no specific extra costs apart from access to IT and the internet, as well as any books/stationery you wish to purchase yourself.
