What is the course about?
If you have an interest in holistic treatments, this course is ideal for you! Whether you would like to take this course for personal use or to eventually start a new career, this course will equip you with a range of valuable introductory skills.
Why should I choose the course?
This course will provide you with a starting point to build your confidence with an introduction to ear candling that will expand your basic skills and knowledge in holistic related treatments, enabling you to progress onto a range of short courses that will provide opportunities to upskill, retrain or look to becoming self employed in the future.
What will I learn?
During the four-week course there will be introductory sessions on carrying out an ear candling treatment.
Topics include:
- Health, safety, and hygiene in a salon
- Completing consultation forms
- Basic cleanse
- Pressure point sinus massage
- Ear candling treatment
Within the sessions the relevant health and safety will be covered, and you will learn how to perform different techniques of the above treatments on fellow students in the class.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you could progress on to a wide range of accredited and non-accredited courses. Are there any links with industry and university?
Throughout this course you will learn the basic techniques for a number of beauty treatments, which you may build on if you wish to take this further. You will learn the relevant health and safety relating to each of the treatments to ensure safe practice.

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be over 19 and have an interest in the subject area. You should be willing to partake in classroom activities and discussions and to self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan at the end of each session.
Where required you will need a patch test on the first week of the course before undertaking any treatments.
