What is the course about?
The course is intended to give you an insight to the hair and barbering industry and it will allow you to explore and develop new skills or refresh and enhance existing skills.

What will I learn?
On the course you will learn
- The basics of working in a salon and maintaining a safe working environment.
- How to analyse and test the hair and scalp to identify factors that could prevent or restrict treatments.
- How to select and suitable products to prepare and style hair
- Different head and neck massage techniques
- Explore the tools and equipment used in a barber’s salon to create different styles and create shape.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you will be able to progress onto a Level 2 Certificate in Barbering or explore other short courses that would support you to develop and enhance your skills across the hair & beauty industry or explore a different sector.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be over 19 and have an interest in the subject area and willing to partake in classroom activities and discussions and to self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan at the end of each session
You will be expected to attend 100% of your course and meet the required professional standards, wear all black, and closed sensible footwear.
