This course will introduce you to the key aspects of social media and provide you with the knowledge and skills required to plan and develop strategic communication campaigns through social media. This enables you to put strategies into context for both your own role and the organisation that you work for. The course helps to build on prior knowledge of using social media to be able to create a social media strategy.

This short course is designed as a quick introductory course that does not require long term commitment and concentrates on key digital marketing factors. Through assessment activities, you will be able to apply knowledge to real working life challenges that you may face in your day-to-day job role. This course is also essential for business and employers. Social media has transformed the way that people and organisations communicate by allowing engagement across multiple channels with greater personalisation and targeted dissemination. This course introduces you to the tools and methods required to fully utilise social media for business and provides you with practical support to help you develop a social media strategy.
This course is completed remotely. The necessary information and materials will be set up through an online platform. You will be given six weeks to work through the modules in your own time.

Through the successful completion of this short course, you will develop an understanding of key aspects of social media, social media concepts, different types of social media, social media analytics, how to market and promote a business using social media, networking for business using social media, misconceptions of social media, how to target campaigns, content marketing, reputation marketing, and strategic communication campaigns. The course provides essential knowledge development regardless of which industry and level of profession you are working in. Content is contemporary, up to date, and aligns with current national issues and their impact on organisations to ensure that the marketing strategies developed are relevant and effective.
